Welcome to Rockin R Ranch. We are not just a cattle and horse operation, but a brand rooted in values, friendships, business, and a way of life.  The backbone of our brand is one simple statement, “just trying to cut the good ones out of the herd.” We believe this philosophy carries truth in who we want to associate with, be in business with, the people we want to help, and of course - the livestock we strive to raise.

​The Rockin R brand was started about 15 years ago with a small equine rescue in Southern California. After growing up with horses and deeply involved in the western lifestyle a horse that desperately needed another chance found its way into our lives. This horse was deemed a throwaway due to never getting along with anyone but has now since become a trustworthy mount with some patience, hard work and dedication. This first experience led us to what is now our calling and many years of giving back to animals that needed another chance. From large livestock seeking sanctuary to house pets needing a place to wait for adoption there is no limit to our outreach. After a trip to Texas to see non other than the king himself, Mr. George Strait. We fell in love with the mindset, the people and the culture of Texas. Shortly after we decided to expand the Rockin R brand to the state of Texas and expand our operation. The mission grew even deeper when our team found themselves in the waters of hurricane Harvey's destruction helping pull out livestock and pets from flood waters and also helping relieve overwhelmed shelters in order for them to have more space for incoming animals during the disaster.

Beyond the rescue, the brand has developed into a cattle operation running pairs of Black Angus and registered Herefords in Ellis County, TX. After our roots were established, we decided we wanted to expand into the western performance horse industry and began researching which segment we would be most interested in. After little debate, we realized that we always had a passion for cutting and the horses that the sport developed. We believe that you would be so hard-pressed to find a sport that developed a more broke, and all around useful horse as you would find in the cutting world. After this decision was made it was time to put the plan into motion. In 2021 we met horse trainer and cutting athlete Scott Amos and with his help this dream began to come to fruition. With Scott’s leadership, integrity, dedication and work ethic, the journey was underway and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better to lead our charge. He is a vital part of our operation and look forward to a long and successful journey together.  We are now proud to be breeding and raising registered AQHA performance horses in the cutting world and will be competing in the many years to come. We look forward to this journey and growing the Rockin R legacy all while staying true to our original motto, “just trying to cut the good ones out of the herd.” We feel as if it is our mission not only with horses or cattle, but whoever we try to associate or partner in business with. We are here to establish relationships with good like-minded people in every aspect of our operation.
